Youth skating

For young, enthusiastic skaters we offer various possibilities to further develop yourself in the skating sport. From beginner to advanced skater, there is always a program that suits you!

Youth skating for beginners

Every Saturday afternoon, children from the Utrecht region come together at De Vechtsebanen to learn to skate and improve their technique. This youth skating is intended for children van 6 to 13 years, with some associations admitting children from the age of 5. The lessons are provided by 17 different associations and are divided into three time slots during the afternoon.

When is it?
The youth skating is – in the skating season – every Saturday afternoon. We divide the afternoon over three different hours (the times can differ slightly due to the ice care):

• The first hour: 16:25 PM – 17:25 PM
• The second hour: 17:35 PM – 18:35 PM
• The third hour: 18:45 PM – 19:45 PM

Youth skating with a disability

For a number of years now, we have had a separate group for children with a disability: often children who need a bit more guidance or do not feel comfortable in a large group. They are very welcome in this smaller group, where they receive a bit more attention from calm, experienced teachers.

For who is it?
This group is specifically intended for children from about 8 to 18 years old with a (mild) intellectual disability, developmental delay or an autism spectrum disorder. Children with a visual impairment can also participate. The lessons are coordinated by the skating club from Zeist, but the lessons are given by trainers from different clubs.

This group skates from 15.00:16.00 to XNUMX:XNUMX on Saturday afternoon and is open to children from all clubs. Are you interested? For more information, please send an email to gsport@sivzeist.nl.

Youth competitive skating

For children with skating experience who would like to participate in competitions, the clubs offer the possibility to join a youth competition group. These trainings take place during the week or on Saturday mornings, with competitions on Sunday mornings or Tuesday afternoons. For those interested in longer distances, there is sometimes also the possibility to participate in marathons.

Do you want to participate in youth skating? Then register with one of the youth skating clubs in Utrecht. It is useful to choose a club that is located near you, so that you can skate together with friends and easily participate in the activities.
