Track rules The Vechtsebanen
To ensure that everyone can skate safely and with pleasure, we ask you to follow the house rules below.
General
- De Vechtsebanen is completely smoke-free. Smoking is not permitted in or around the complex.
- Leaving the building temporarily to smoke is not permitted.
- Always follow the instructions of our staff.
- Dispose of waste in the designated bins.
Safety on the ice
- Gloves are mandatory.
- For extra safety, we recommend wearing a hat or helmet.
- Enter the ice only with skates.
- Shoes and skate guards are not allowed on the ice.
- During the ice resurfacing times, we ask all skaters to temporarily leave the ice.
- Sleds and chairs are not allowed on the ice.
- A limited number of skating aids are available for children up to and including 8 years old.
Food and drinks
- Food, drinks, and alcohol are not allowed on the ice or in the changing rooms.
- Bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted.
- We do not serve alcohol to visitors under the age of 18.
Recreational skating
- Recreational hours are intended for free skating. Tricks and technical exercises are not allowed.
- Ice hockey sticks and pucks are not allowed during recreational hours.
- The inner track is not accessible with speed skates.
- The use of balls and footballs is not permitted anywhere in the entire complex.
Additional rules for the 400-meter track
- Driving is always counter-clockwise.
- Fast skaters skate on the inside of the track.
- Slower skaters stay on the outside as much as possible.
- Be considerate of other skaters when cooling down.
- A maximum of two skaters may skate next to each other.
- Do not stop in the bends.
- Sitting or loitering on the boarding is not permitted.
- Only skating school Duosport is permitted to provide skating lessons during recreational hours.
Additional (behavioral) rules for the 400-meter track during the Speedskating hour on Friday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM:
- Skating will take place according to the competition schedule. This means entering and exiting on the inner track, and speed skating and starting on the outer track.
- Maximum number of riders for this hour: 60.
- Norwegians required
- Gloves and helmet required
